Tax preparation in Phoenix — in plain language
Individual, family and small-business returns prepared in person by someone who explains what you’re signing. Over 20 years of experience. Hablamos español.
Who we prepare returns for
Find your situation
Different returns, same approach: bring what you have, we'll tell you what's missing, and you'll leave understanding what was filed.
Individual tax preparation
One W-2 or several, a first return or your twentieth. We check the credits people most often miss and we file electronically.
Family tax preparation
Dependents, childcare costs, education expenses, and the credits that come with a growing household — claimed correctly the first time.
Self-employed & 1099 contractors
Construction, landscaping, trucking, cleaning, delivery, trades of every kind. We work through income and expenses together so the deductions you're entitled to actually get claimed.
Small-business returns
For LLCs, corporations and sole proprietors — prepared by the same office that can help set the business up in the first place.
Bookkeeping & payroll support
Year-round help keeping the books straight, so filing season isn't a scramble through a shoebox of receipts.
Tax questions & IRS letters
Got a notice you don't understand? Bring it in. We'll tell you what it says and what it actually requires.
How it works
Three visits' worth of stress, in one appointment
Bring your documents
ID, income forms, last year's return, and anything you think might matter. Not sure? Bring it anyway.
We prepare it with you
In English or Spanish, at the same table, asking the questions that surface credits and deductions you'd otherwise miss.
You review before anything is filed
We walk through the return line by line. You'll know what your refund or balance is and why, before you sign.
We file and you keep a copy
Electronic filing, and a copy of everything for your records. Questions later in the year? Call us — we're still here.
Common questions
Before you come in
Bring photo ID, Social Security or ITIN documents for everyone on the return, all of your income forms (W-2s, 1099s, and records of self-employed income), last year's tax return if you have it, and anything that might affect your return — childcare costs, tuition statements, mortgage interest, or business expense records. If you're not sure whether something matters, bring it. It's faster to set a document aside than to make a second trip.
Walk-ins are welcome, and during tax season an appointment usually means less waiting. Call (602) 241-8681 and we'll find a time that works.
Yes. Self-employed and independent-contractor returns are a large part of what this office does — construction and the trades especially. Bring your income records and your expense records (tools, materials, mileage, phone, insurance) and we'll sort out what belongs on the return.
Yes. Hablamos español. You can have your entire appointment in Spanish, and we'll explain the return line by line in whichever language you prefer.
Bring it in. Most IRS letters are far less alarming than they look, and many are resolved with a document or a short written response. We'll read it with you and tell you honestly whether it's something we can handle or something that needs a tax attorney.
While you're here
Most clients handle more than one thing in a single visit.
